Identification Cards for Children Under 12 Years of Age

As of October 2009, identification cards for children under twelve years of age are electronic.

To order this identification card, you may appear before the Identification Cards Department with an identification photo and 4€.

Children must be present when this card is requested.

• Acceptance criteria for photos.

The average processing period for obtaining an electronic identification card is three to four weeks.

Once this period has passed, an envelope containing the PIN & PUK codes will be sent to your place of residence.

After receiving these codes, please come to the Identification Cards office with your codes as well as your former card.
