Functions:

Employment Offices offer the asset of each partners’ expertise. They represent an added value in employment.

In one nearby location, clients will find the answers to their training and employment problems.

Each Employment Office is supported by the same partnership that unites the municipality, the Public Center for Social Welfare (CPAS) and the Forem.

This base partnership is completed with a larger partnership with local organizations that specialize in socio-professional integration:

• Local Employment Agency (ALE).
• Local Development Agency (ADL).
• Nonprofits specializing in training and integration.
• Continuing education programs.
• Regional Employment Missions.

These partners know the people they serve and will assist in making contacts.

Municipalities play a significant role in coordinating the Employment Office and in developing its identity.

Each Office reflects its territory:

• By allowing room for the particularities of each locale
• By responding to the specific needs of the population.

The partnership with municipalities allows for collaborations with socio-economic agents in the territory.

The Employment Offices are the motors of a local network of integration organizations, which promote:

• Skill sharing.
• Information exchange.
• Setting up collaborations.
• Exchanging best practices.

The Employment Office is managed by an accompanying committee made up of representatives of the municipality, of the Forem and of CPAS (Public Center for Social Welfare).

This committee makes decisions regarding the missions, goals, and direction of the Employment Office.

Day-to-day management is provided by a coordinator named by the Forem.

The expanded accompanying committee is made up of one representative from each of the internal and external partners of the Employment Office.

It makes sure that the partnership project runs smoothly and remains dynamic.
